Printing Trials

After trialling the etchings and screen prints, I have decided to use only screen printing within the piece. I really like how definite the prints turn out using this process. I am also happy with the ability to print shaped images rather than rectilinear (the etching plate).

I have also decided on the images that will be printed. These are images from within the womb. I will include a mix of images such as a close up of the foetus and development of the baby, shape of the ovum (cell close up), blastocyst etc.

I have experimented with these images as a screen print on the Stonehenge paper. A photo of this is below.

In this experiment, I have used white and a very light pink. I am happy with this combination as I feel it emphasises the fragility of the work.
